Jack is an ideas-driven writer/director, with a passion for bold narrative cinema and original storytelling.
His short film Lambing Season, selected for development with Creative England and the BFI, and shot in his native North Yorkshire, has screened both nationally and internationally at festivals such as Newport Beach, Aesthetica, Underwire, British Shorts Berlin, The Smalls; where it earned a nomination for ‘Best Drama’, and Leeds International Film Festival; where it won the Audience Award and garnered a Special Mention in the Yorkshire Short Film Competition. Lambing Season has since premiered online at the prestigious Short of the Week.
His second funded short, A Life Hereafter, commissioned by Random Acts and the UK Arts Council has recently been acquired by Channel 4 and is currently screening at randomacts.channel4.com. The film is also part of the Random Acts Playback Festival; a nationwide screening tour, culminating in a final showcase at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts.
Jack is currently developing his first feature film project, an expansion on his short Lambing Season, with initial funding from Creative England and the BFI.
